David will be speaking at the author strand at the 2009 National Council of Teachers of English Annual Convention in Philadelphia thisNovember. The NCTE is a professional association devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education. The annual convention runs November 19 - 22, 2009. The Willow Awards, selected by young readers in Saskatchewan, promote reading by granting a Willow Award to the Canadian books voted by students to be the best of those nominated in three categories: Shining Willow (K-3), Diamond Willow (4-6) and Snow Willow (7-9).
